I can hardly contain myself, I am so excited! This sweater has been a long time coming. Not quite like birthing one of my children (OK, it is nothing like the *%!$@ of birthing a child), but it did feel like it took forever to get this one built and out the door.
It all started with a pattern stitch by Elizabeth Walker – Banded Rib Stitch (from which the name (w)rapped was inspired). Then the sweater itself just took shape! It was originally intended to have sleeves, but when I put the front and back on my dress form to “check it out”, I LOVED IT!!! So, here it is.
But that was just the beginning… I finished the sweater when I was in Maine – small island, nowhere near my regular photographer, potential model off island – so it languished for a while…time went by….. Imagine my good fortune when my nephew, Max, offered to take photographs! My very own fashion photographer AND a model, his very beautiful and talented girlfriend, Clara.
Even Cash (the dog) jointed in the fun — a family affair, I guess.
Then my regular tech editor had some personal mishaps and… more time went by… And, again, imagine the stroke of good fate when I wrote to Charlotte Quiggle totally on a whim and, low and behold, she agreed to work with me! THAT experience will be left for another day, but let it suffice to say that Charlotte is a bit of a drill sergeant — I mean that in the nicest way possible…time went by…
And, then I re-branded. Well, you know that was time consuming… new website, email, blog….
But here it is and so, so much better for all of the trials and tribulations!
