In addition, throughout the year I will be revisiting at least 10 of my personal favorite designs. I’m starting the celebration with perhaps my favorite design off all, CRISSCROSS (was Shibui Mix 28). A design originally published by Shibui and reworked now to cover the full range of VERSACIKNITS sizes, CRISSCROSS was inspired by a photo of a silk top in a spring 2013 Vogue Magazine. I wondered if one could capture the elegance of a silk scarf collar in a knitted piece. What do you think?
CRISSCROSS is shown in a size M on the lovely Latoya, who is 5’10” with a 36″ bust. While it is shown worn as a summer shell top, it can also be layered over a blouse (silk perhaps) or shirt for fall. And, the collar can be buttoned underneath, as shown above, or on top, as shown below, for different looks.
My CRISSCROSS is knit in Shibui Reed and Pebble held together in color Caffeine, but you can mix 2 other Shibui yarns together or knit it in a single strand of DK weight yarn. In fact, I am currently swatching Shibui Echo, which would be lovely!!!
