A few years ago VERSACIKNITS launched its first collection of baby knits, textured baby suite — a collection of 5 sweet sweaters for wee ones. While people loved the collection, knitters and yarn store shop owners commented again and again that they wished that the designs were available for older kids!
Since I never viewed these designs as only for babies, my associate, Beth, and I set out to up size the sweaters. We chose as broad a size range as we could – 2 years to 14 years; modified to a dropped shoulder, for a better fit; adapted buttons and eliminated plackets; and maintained 2” of positive ease across all sizes (so if your teen likes a looser fit, you might consider a larger size). All shown in MADELINETOSH Tosh DK yarn knit on size 6 needles.
