Hello Friends!

So, this weekend should have been the weekend that Loop London makes its way to NYC for its annual pop-up shop at mYak headquarters, where my latest design, TRANSLUCENT would have made its debut. But here we are so, INTRODUCING TRANSLUCENT!!!

Anyone who has followed me for a while knows that I love Viola Yarns. I was first introduced to them by Susan of Loop London, when she graciously sent me a gift of 2 skeins of her store’s 10th anniversary custom color of Viola Merino Singles Fingering, Speckled Mist. The artistry of the dye color alone astounded me and I immediately became a hopeless devotee! My stash of Viola Yarns outstrips that of any other yarn. TRANSLUCENT is striped using a DK weight yarn and Mohair Silk Lace weight yarn, creating a see-through, floaty fabric. It is a comfy, light-weight, oversized wear-anywhere pullover with a slim, crew neckline and almost too-long sleeves. The clean lines, vent sides and set-in pockets add to its elegant style. And, the pattern is written so that it can be knit in 2 different lengths. I have knit both length versions: one using Shadow DK and Mohair Silk Lace in the color Frozen Earth and the other using Organic Merino DK in Raspberry and Mohair Silk Lace in Faded Tomato. So you can see how the 2 lengths look on me — I am 5’3″ with a 39″ bust.

Preferring the shorter version, I gave the longer version to Emily of Viola Yarn (see photo below), who reports that she is enjoying it even more, now that it is snowing in Mooresburg. If you have a bit of time, you will love checking out the Loop video of Emily’s story.Loop London has just restocked both Viola Organic Merino DK and Viola Mohair Silk Lace in their on-line store and Viola Merino Fingering will be available starting on Sunday. Emily is also hoping for an update of her shop in December, so head over to the Viola website and sign up for her newsletter for updates. In my experience you just can’t go wrong with any of the Viola Yarn colors!

While you are at it, and Viola Yarns are available, you should check out my Viola Yarn designs, all of which are 15% off through Tuesday, November 17th on Ravelry and LoveCraft (no coupon code needed):
