Hello Friends!

I am so excited to be launching my latest shawl pattern, EDISON! It has been a long time coming.

I knit the first EDISON for my husband, who grew up in Edison, NJ, last winter. The original was knit in a solid color of Ritual Dyes’ Priestess in my local fiber stores’ custom colorway and namesake, Wild Hand!

Even when I was knitting the first one, I knew that I would ultimately knit the design as a tri-color shawl, with stunning 2-color sequence knitting followed by the simple texture of the eyelet check pattern and finished with a simple, elegant picot edge. So I dug in my stash and found some coveted Magpie Fibers Swanky DK and found these gorgeous colors …

The shawl is comprised of 3 sections: at the top of the shawl is a 12-st Broken Garter pattern, alternating 6 sts garter st and 6 sts reverse garter st and working just one color at a time (so easy to knit); the bottom of the shawl is worked with a Eyelet Check pattern; the shawl ends with a garter border followed by a Picot BO. The Broken Garter pattern is written out (including the shaping), while the Eyelet Check pattern is both charted and written out.

Knit it in the smaller size to wear as a neckpiece or in the larger size to wear as a wrap. Edison is a fabulous addition to your wardrobe or accent to your favorite knitting chair or couch

A special THANK YOU to Gale Zucker for the wonderful photos!
