It’s time for selfish knitting: Introducing BEDROCK!

Yesterday I finished my final holiday knitting (yes, another HESTER’s HAT), which means that I am ready to pick my next selfish knitting project. I am thinking that you are just about ready to do the same, so I want to tempt you with your next sweater project, BEDROCK!

BEDROCK is the perfect addition to your everyday sweater mix! It is an easy fitting cardigan, with a lovely, simple but stunning all-over texture pattern finished with an I-cord edging that continues from the front bands around the back neckline. The clean, no-button look is accented with large (optional) patch pockets.

Shown in one of my favorite yarns, Madelinetosh DK Twist in color Smokestack, BEDROCK is knit all-in-one-piece from the bottom up. The body is worked to the underarm and divided, then the fronts and back are worked separately to the shoulder. After the shoulder seams are joined, stitches are picked up along the armhole edge and sleeves are worked flat to cuff and seamed. Optional pockets are worked separately and sewn on.

I am wearing the size M with approximately 6″/15cm of positive ease. The pattern is written for sizes XS to 3X and can easily be modified (we can talk about the details in the VERSACIKNITS knitters group) for a longer length and/or wider sleeves or even finished without sleeves for a lovely vest!
